website

The Marine Geoscience Data System (MGDS), operated as part of the Integrated Earth Data Application (IEDA) Data Facility, provides access to data portals for the NSF-supported Ridge 2000 and MARGINS, and GeoPRISMS programs, the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Data Synthesis, and the Academic Seismic Portal. This integrated data system regroups portals which provide free public access to a wide variety of marine geoscience data collected throughout the global ocean. System components include a searchable digital data repository and metadata catalog, and the Global Multi-Resolution Topography (GMRT) synthesis, a dynamic multi-resolution gridded compilation of seafloor bathymetry data integrated with land topography. For the Mediterranean region data available are minimal and especially related to the seafloor feature (bathymetry, seismic).
